Why we’re doing this.
In July this year our Club Captain Steve “Rompa” Romppanen was seriously injured during a match, suffering a dislocated neck (at C4/C5) and several neck fractures. Following major surgery and an extensive hospital stay in Sydney, Rompa has returned home and his recovery and rehabilitation is progressing well. However, as a result of the significance of his injuries, he is unable to work and there are significant ongoing costs associated with his care.
In light of these events, The Jindabyne Rugby Union Club has established the Serious Injury Fund to assist injured players, with Rompa being the first primary recipient.
To raise money for the fund to assist Rompa, the club is undertaking a series of fundraising initiatives as part of the inaugural Serious Injury Fund Black Tie Ball on Saturday the 11th of February, 2017.

Time to Dress Up!
We’re rolling out the red carpet and giving you the rare opportunity to dress up for this black tie occasion. So go ahead and dust off the old penguin suit or buy yourself a new formal frock!
Come and celebrate a night of great food, drinks and entertainment! You’ll be greeted by the paparazzi and treated to a welcome drink from Wildbrumby Distillery, before entering the ball to enjoy a substantial cocktail canapé offering, beverages, guest speakers including World Cup winning Wallabies and Waratahs legend Nick Farr-Jones, heaps of live music with TWO acts: solo artist Mark Lockyear (Locky) and DJ Mel Pappas (SHMELL), plus a silent auction, raffle draw & prize giveaways.
